Established in 2024, SYSBA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with an executive director and three board members. All of them have not only been amateur or professional soccer players in Africa or the United States, they have also coached youth. Now they contribute their expertise and passion to the Springfield, Illinois area. The popularity of soccer is soaring for youth because it is safer than football and open to boys and girls. However, soccer can be expensive, especially for low-income families. It can also be difficult to excel due to lack of year-round and long-term opportunities. That is why SYSBA offers free services; year-round training; and connections to state, local, and international opportunities.
